Santa Ana River Lakes

Curious if anyone has ever fished there?  There are some monster trout it looks like.......just wondering how big the lakes are?   By the looks of how many fish they plant, seems like it would be hard not to catch one......no challenge

Would appreciate thoughts or opinions especially if you have fished there

I haven't fished those but have fished corona and was not impressed. Think its more of a bait n wait type thing.

But have been seeing some great catches lately come out of them. Don't think they allow kayaks /boats at this point due to water level.

I was on their website, and they closed Corona and Anaheim lakes and have moved everything to Santa Ana lakes, didn't see anything that said no yaks. They show 25 bucks to get in and 4 to launch.

Yeah I could very well be wrong.

Think it worth a shot if your looking for some trout. Or wait till Cachuma and Lopez stock hopefully next month.

Those So Cal - pay for large trout lakes are just big cement ponds with large beat up trout. No scenery and lots of people fishing from shore.
