Hobies new Mirage 180

So Icast was last week and pretty much every kayak big name in the game came out with some form of peddle power.

Well Hobie could not do that since well they invented it for kayaks. They did answer the one cry anglers that use the drive have and that is being able to reverse easily. To me I do not fish enough docks or isolated pieces of structure to really think it would make much difference but would be nice for those times it does come up. 

So here it is still the same torque that the mirage drive provides yet now(meow) being able to pull it into reverse when you want it.

So being a fairly new Hobie kayaker, I didn't know (until fairly recently), that you can pop in your Mirage Drive backwards and pedal in reverse.

Of course it isn't reverse-on-demand, but if you are trying to hold a spot while facing it, it's an option.

yup hobies have the torque. There are a lot for awesome boats out there this year that's forsure

Yeah guess that goes with the times.

I mean a minimum wage employee has gone up $80 per week in the last two year. So that is 80bucks per employee per week. Its over 4000 per employee extra if you were to pay them minimum. With $15 being on the ballot in November, expect the price to continue to rise of everything from the kayak to the coffee at Starbucks.

There is no retro lots of moving parts to these things.

These things were just released this last week, so there has yet to be testing done on the sturdiness of them. The real rest will be when they hit the market and the users put them to the test to see how sturdy they are.   My guess would be the rods and material are made of the same as the previous models. Now just a moving part to be tossed in the game. But like anything else I am sure will have problems to start with.
