Holy crap!  :o I had no idea the parks had that kind of greed....I mean "policy" in place for events. And a charity event at that! Thanks for the clarification.

We have our hands tied locally because just about all of our main launch spots are within State Parks jurisdiction. I really don't mind paying to play, I do believe that the money goes to upkeep of facilities and resources that we all use. But, it's just over the top and forces us to work outside their reach. In the end they get nothing.

I totally get the "pay to play" philosophy. But you are right. This is over the top. I mean....don't our taxes count for something? The fees they are charging almost sounds like a deterrent. It's almost like charging more for a pack of smokes or a fifth of booze to deter society from indulging. I guess this just puts my tighty whities in a twist because it's for charity. You would think they would proudly endorse and possibly promote their sponsorship in an event like this.
I love fishing.  You put that line in the water and you don't know what's on the other end.  Your imagination is under there.  ~Robert Altman

Becoming a better waterman and kayaker should be more of a target to focus on than catching fish. The fish will always be around, but will you?

Man this looks like fun!   I'd be coming from Bakersfield, so the camping thing would be a must.  This will be the first year going over to the coast for fishing out of the yak. Probably going to need a couple trips beforehand to get ready, but somehow I think I can manage it.
