What kind of rockfish?

Looks like a copper to me.

Thanks. That was what I was leaning to as well.

I generally don't keep my fish, and I was worried that it may have been one of the "off-limit" fish like Cowcod or Canary.

Canary is not off limits.

While getting fish carcasses for future lobster hooping today at the fish cleaning station in Morro Bay. I saw someone cleaning a copper fish. Hope it gets me a nice keeper bug soon.
