Title: Wilderness Systems Helix Pedal Drive Question
Post by: Gbone141 on February 14, 2019, 08:35 PM
I just got the helix pedal drive for my radar and am working on getting everything installed. In the install video when it shows the pedal drive in the up position and folded forward it shows it touching the front hatch and flex pod when I fold mine forward it doesnít go that far down. If anyone else has the pedals where do they rest when up?
Thanks

There is a rubber coated pin that the drive rests on when up and folded toward the bow. Mine do not go as far forward as they show in the video either.

Pretty good. I had a couple issues getting the steering lever to work right but I figured it out. Did you use the lashing strap where you have to drill the holes and add the tie downs? It seems like the straps would get in the way

I did install them, but I don't think they are a necessity by any means

I have another question for you dogpound or anyone else that wants to chime in. Do you have the stock pedals on your helix drive or did you change them out? I normally wear some sort of bootie weather fresh or salt water and have noticed my feet slip of the pedals a lot. I was looking at either putting a more aggressive mountain bike pedal on or leaving the stock pedals and putting a skateboard type grip tape. Iím afraid that a more aggressive pedal might tear up my booties and a grip tape might not stay on with the water.

I did put on some after market pedals and with the studs in them they did tear up booties.  So I took them out.  Still have a nice square flat surface vs. The stock pedals.

These were the ones I got, and I know alot of guys have.  But any of this type of pedal would work.
