Make sure to review your regulations before the season opens. Some major changes that need reviewing.
Most easily forgotten or overlooked is the Lingcod limit is now 1.
If your one that likes to venture to deep water the limit is 300ft for now but that is defined by the feds with waypoints.
These 3 waypoints with straight line dots connecting them are your current boundaries.

Why GPS cords instead of depth. Well, my guess is from shore or even a boat. DFG can use rangefinding binos that can pinpoint a gps location with and tell if your out of bounds or not even from a distance. Would be pretty hard to see a kayak from shore is my guess but a sportfishing boat they can probably pinpoint pretty easy.

Does anyone ever hook into the restricted fish out of Cambria or MDO areas? Bronzespotted, yelloweye or cowcods
-
I have seen yelloweye in the area, the other are not nearly as frequent, but do get caught.

Super disappointed in the lingcod change, would of much rather seen a restricted size limit like 26-34 or something like that. Any larger then that and the meat isnt as great ya know. But only 1 cuts into my fishing time on the water. I guess itll give me time to troll some flashers

Or it give you more time to catch and release.

I'll also say I am more disappointed by DFW management than the decreased limit.
How do you manage a fishery so poorly that you go from a limit of 3 just two seasons ago to 1? Obviously, the breeding stocks need to be looked at. I don't really see this being a Central Coast issue as I loose count on my lings most days, but they dont look at specific areas they are looking at regions.

Hell yeah thanks for the heads up
-
It looks like we may get a sub-bag limit for vermillion this year. The current proposals with PFMC shows a limit of 2 verms (within your 10 rockfish limit). Just a heads up!
