Kayak Safety / Re: water inside my yak?

Very well could be normal, if you were taking waves over the front even if not frequent.  Some yaks seal much better than others.

Kayak Safety / water inside my yak?
« Last post by Cal on April 15, 2019, 08:26 AM »
So im kinda new to the kayak scene, and after paddling around in the ocean for about 2 hours, this much water had collected inside. Is this to be expected? I m not sure if there is such a thing as a normal amount of water to pool up inside. didnt tip, landed easy, there was a bit of spray over the bow, but nothing crazy.

Hey there, name's Cal. I met some of you fine folk out at Santa Margarita on Sunday the 6th. One of you guys mentioned the Slam Down and this site, so I thought I'd check it out. Thinking about entering a tourney, anything coming up soon?

Regulations including MLPA / Re: 2019 Rockfish and Lingcod Regulations
« Last post by RHYAK on March 26, 2019, 09:37 AM »
Super disappointed in the lingcod change, would of much rather seen a restricted size limit like 26-34 or something like that. Any larger then that and the meat isnt as great ya know. But only 1 cuts into my fishing time on the water. I guess itll give me time to troll some flashers

I'll also say I am more disappointed by DFW management than the decreased limit.

How do you manage a fishery so poorly that you go from a limit of 3 just two seasons ago to 1? Obviously, the breeding stocks need to be looked at. I don't really see this being a Central Coast issue as I loose count on my lings most days, but they dont look at specific areas they are looking at regions.
