It is on the scoreboard thread at the bottom of the scoreboard.

that is all I was looking for, sturgeon and yellowtail measured as shown on the rules thread for fork fin species all others nose to longest point of tail, any thing with a slot limit must fall into the slot to be admissable.

Derrick when there is a $1000 prize on the line the rules had better be straight forward or Ryan is asking for trouble. People lose their shit over bragging rights let alone a prize of any kind. The fact is it does matter and needs to be sorted out before there are any problems which is why I am glad dogpound pointed it out.

The no over slot fish and other measurement rules need to be posted in black and white. I bet if someone catches a sturgeon over 60" and posts it for points would be pissed if they followed the fishing regulations and were DQ'd due to how someone interpenetrates a rule.

Think the rules are pretty strait forward. FOLLOW DFG RULES does it need to be in a larger font. Do I also have to say no green sturgeon. OHH yeah barbless hooks only. Follow rules on how to measure said fish per DFG and how they would measure for a legal fish. If someone wants to submit a 70 inch sturgeon, DFG might just be looking and well you broke a LAW. Do I have to say no Coho Salmon. Follow rules...

Sorry guys, not trying to be a dick, but why even try and say the rules are not strait forward.

Good luck guys.

Andy sound like you have been able to figure it out with a few guys help. Good luck hope to see some big fish from you.

Regards,
Rhyak

I am not trying to be a dick either. The rules are straight forward in that they say total length. It raised a question from at least one person and that should make it worth looking into. Your site, your contest, your rules.

I just read the new flier and it makes sense to me now.

"Any white sturgeon greater than 68 inches fork length may not be removed from the water and shall be released immediately. (CCR, Title 14, Sec. 5.80 and 27.90)"

So close fish are allowed to be measured but fish that are noticeably over the slot may be protected form handling and exposure.

Yes, I think the rules were pretty straight forward as well, my question was simply what species in Aoty are considered fork tailed to make sure I measured according to rules as posted if I caught a fork tailed fish..  We did figure it out.

sounds good, and ill switch it around today since there are people out there would want to measure not by DFG rules for extra length, but for the record it states fork length for fish that require it, in rule number 7.

I'm trying to be a dick. Always.
Hahaha just kidding. I just think it's funny when someone says "I'm not TRYING to be a dick."  :D

Good call on the fork length issue. With sturgeon and yt we don't have the option of going by either total length OR fork length. We must measure by fork length for these 2 species.

Comparing last year's scoring scale versus this year's...here are the differences I see.
Cali Halibut: down .5pt
Surf Perch: down 1pt
Greenling: down 1pt
Smallmouth Bass: down .5pt
Spotted Bass: down .5pt
Catfish: down .5pt

Crappie have been separated from Panfish (Crappie down .5pt and Panfish up 3pts)
New species include: Pacific Halibut, Yellowtail, Sturgeon.

Yes, and on the aoty thread index you'll see a rules thread and the signup thread.
