Yup- rock greenling. The Kelp greenling has dimorphic colors (different colors for male and female) with males typically that yellow/olive/green color and females more yellow fins and brown spots on the body.
Keep it Reel!

I've caught several of those and had no clue what they were. What are the regs on a greenling?

Greenlings kelp or rock must be 12" inches to keep and count in your 10 fish daily bag limit.  this is not based on anything scientific but just from my own experience and what seems to be posted on our site is kelp greenlings are more common than the rock greenlings.

haha Ya I'm a freak. Really sucks not sure what causes it actually it's not the fish because I've gone out and got skunked before and still had it happen and it only happens in saltwater. My doctors have no clue.

Here's a pic about three hours after getting off the water. Very annoying and painful.

Looks like an allergic reaction. What else do you touch while out there.  :o
Due to current economic conditions the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.

it is an allergy. We are figuring it's something in the saltwater because I don't have this issue fishing in freshwater. It's easier to were gloves. I use the seal skin gloves normally but that trip I didn't have them so I grabbed some gloves from work instead to avoid the pain.
