It will be a team comp and I will come up with a small prize for those members of that team for the winning team.
I will post the rules as well. Have talked to a few members and set it up to what should promote the most friendly competition possible for all as well as equal chances fr the winner.

Will take Multiple Species to win the whole thing

I am talking to the owners of the company I work for (iFixit.com) to see if I can get them to sponsor the tournament as well.
One of the many products we manufacture is called a Thirsty Bag. It's sole purpose is to save your phone (or other device) that may fall into water. I will hopefully get them to give me a bunch of single bags to hand out and then a few 5 packs as prizes. Honestly everyone who fishes should have one of these in their glove compartment and one in the tackle box.

Here is a link to our product page http://www.ifixit.com/Tools/Thirsty-Bag/IF145-163

Does everyone think it would be a cool prize / freebie ? If so I will go forward with getting us some.

No live bait? Does that include hitchhiker lings?

No live bait is a CA DFG rule. Sorry. If someone gets a hitchhiker ling or any hitchhiker it will count.
Just putting it out there to comply with DFG. But fresh dead is fine.

I don't recall where it says live bait is illegal. I read that using live tilapia in the ocean is illegal, but from what I have read it specifically states live bait is legal.

In tournaments live bait is illegal it was asked in one of those weekly question and answers the DFG sends out. That's the only reason I added it.
