2015 Outback?
« on: February 06, 2015, 11:41 PM »
Hey guys Im gonna pick up a smaller yak most likely the Outback with Uncle Sams refund so I can hit up the islands and I was wondering how you guys have rigged yours and if you have had any hang ups/problems. I know Ill have less room than my PA12, do you have rod holders mounted at all? Thanks for the help.

The outback has 4 molded in rod holders, I added some to the crate I put in the back, and I and other guys use gear track and mighty mounts from yakattack to make customizable configurations of rod holders and camera / electronics mounts.

yeah I want to use the gear track, like I have on my PA 12 I saw how Ryan put in the larger hatch which looked like it made more sense. I haven't been able to swing by OEX tot check them out in person yet. I think Ill get another sand color its just a lot lighter for some of the heavier surf areas, did you upgrade your rudder?

I upgraded my rudder when I did the turbo fins.  The 15's come with the turbo fins.  Not sure about the rudder.  Paid right about 30 bucks for the rudder.

I dont think the 2015 has true Turbo fins, they are just different like the new drive.

the 2015 come with the st fins not the st turbo. When I got my 2105 i immediately put the sailing rudder and turbo fins. I am glad I made the upgrade. Very nice boats, I will always have a hobie in my arsenal from this point on. Thanks to Derrick for convincing my to buy one.
