CCKF Newbie
« on: October 29, 2016, 05:28 PM »
Hi all, new the sport and looking to meet some fellow fishing buddies. My first adventure was with my friend Yakattak at Leff. We limited out on Rock Cod and some other guys caught some nice Lings and Cab's. It was a great day, got hooked. I just picked up the Vibe Sea Ghost 13 from my new friend Tom at Central Coast kayak! Live in AG and open to explore the Central Coast. Available on most Friday's,  Saturday's and Sunday's. Looking to get most out of this awesome sport!

Thanks, James -AKA Diego

I'm glad you had a fun day on the water but please learn how to ID fish and the minimum size limit / maximum quantity per species. Please look at our safety thread for open ocean items.

Welcome to CCKF, good time of year to do some research and pick your days. This time of year we start getting our winter storms and some days out there can be tough and others can be easy. Just make sure to check the swell and wind forecast.

Welcome! Here is my .02. Weather reports are fine to check as a general guideline.... but always be ready to turn around and go back home. Don't succumb to false pride or a little voice on one shoulder saying go for it while the big voice on the other one is screaming NO! I'm still learning about that one. I'm new to this sport/hobby/hole in my wallet too. Just take it slow and read everything on this site. There is a lot of good info on here.
