Taking suggestions for the 2016 AOTY. Please submit your request soon as we will set the rules ad scoring scale and once set it will remain that way for a year. So now is your time to make any request.

1st for what reason only asking cause they seem to score about right. Haven't seen any that just break the score wide open.

2nd definitely a possibility

Greenling have to be at least 12" to keep and therefore at least that size to enter AOTY. A 12" greenling at 12 points per inch is worth 144 points which seems too much for a small bony fish that I think most of us wouldn't be too interested in otherwise...And that's just the minimum size. At 12 points per inch, a relatively small incidental catch of limited sport or culinary value (IMO) becomes a very valuable fish.

I think the point value is set well for their size range. It also gives people with less fresh water time to add another species to the board. If anything remove Pacific Halibut from the board since its onlly commonly found in the northern most section of CA. It also hs such a small season it makes it a crap shoot for most anglers to go target.

I agree, but then we might miss out on some of Matanaska's epic PacHali reports.

Suggestion for 2017. Increase tournament entry and add a platic Hawg trough as part of the gig.  Make said plastic hawg troughs the mandatory measuring device.  These metal reflective surface ones suck for pictures with glare.  Either they dont hve enough marks or the marks are to fine.  Stick to the basic plastic trough with sharpied in lines.
